Put a face to the name
Vinoth Chandar is the creator and PMC chair of the Apache Hudi project, a seasoned distributed systems/database engineer and a dedicated entrepreneur. During his time at Uber he created Hudi, which pioneered transactional data lakes as we know them today, as a way to solve unique needs of speed and scale for Uber’s massive data platform. Applying his unique perspectives and deep experience with databases, distributed-systems and data systems at planet-scale, strengthened through his work at Oracle, Linkedin, Uber and Confluent, Vinoth founded Onehouse - a cloud-native managed lakehouse service that makes data lakes easier, faster, and cheaper.
Although significant strides have been made since he built Hudi, Vinoth recognizes there is a lack of scalable, cost-efficient, standardized data infrastructure that cripples many data organizations. Your data infrastructure should scale without needing an army of highly skilled engineers to operate and most importantly, your data should be owned by you. That’s exactly what Vinoth has built here at Onehouse.
Nilesh Mahajan is an entrepreneur at heart, drawn to Onehouse by the enormity of the vision and the profound impact we can have on the future of data. While a staff engineer on Uber’s core marketplace platform, he built several mission critical platform services including the real-time push messaging platform used by all of Uber’s mobile applications. As a founding engineer at Onehouse, Nilesh leads the platform engineering team.
Rajesh Mahindra is passionate about working on deep and challenging systems engineering projects. Rajesh led the Mobile Networking team at Uber, that worked on cutting edge projects like optimizing Uber’s mobile traffic over complex cellular networks across the globe, deploying one of the industry’s first QUIC/http3 deployments at scale. He is excited about pushing the state-of-the-art for data lakes at Onehouse, through Apache Hudi and Onehouse’s managed data services.
Kyle Weller has been on the front lines helping enterprises embrace the lakehouse architecture for the last 3 years as a Product lead for Azure Databricks. While scaling the product from launch to the fastest growing analytics service on Azure, Kyle saw firsthand how hard it still is for engineers to build DIY data lake infrastructure. He is now leveraging his experience building data products and platforms to tackle this challenge head-on at Onehouse.
Tiffany Jordan is a passionate “builder” of companies, enabling the all-important 0 to 1 journey. She developed a soft spot for startups when she discovered the startup scene in Texas. In her words, Tiffany instantly “clicked” with Onehouse and its mission. She previously ran comms and admin for Rice University's innovation hub in Houston. At Onehouse, she focuses on talent while also managing global business operations.
